Digital Citizenship
Canyons School District recognizes the importance and wants to celebrate Digital Citizenship for students of all ages as they navigate this increasingly digital world! To highlight this essential skill set, Digital Citizenship Week will take place October 13-17, 2025. This year, students will be engaging in activities and discussions that empower students to seek balance in their technology use and be aware of their online actions. Fundraiser Information
We’re excited to announce a Fun Run on October 17th to help raise funds for our upcoming field trips! We kindly ask families to help us by collecting donations. Contributions can be made by cash, check, or by scanning the QR code provided. Please make checks payable to Altara Elementary.
Every dollar/100% of the proceeds goes to our school and towards making field trips fun and memorable for our students. Our goal is to raise $10,000!
So far we have raised $1,197.38! We hit our 1st milestone and will be having a school-wide dance party tomorrow! Woohoo!
We have lots of fun activities for each milestone we hit during our fundraiser!

Choose Kindness
We are on the lookout for any acts of kindness at Altara. Here are some examples of kindness happening at our school these past few weeks.
We have the best students!
Sophie Record (2nd grade) Sophie always helps me and other students clean up the classroom. She is very kind.
Madison Thalman (3rd grade) Madison used her love and kindness to cheer up a friend!
Stockton Short (kindergarten) Stockton often helps to clean up in the art area even though he didn’t play there 😉
Elsey Eyre (kindergarten) Elsey tries her best even when it is hard. She encourages others to keep going!
Claire Cowan (kindergarten) Claire helps the teacher keep her table neat and tidy.
River Babka (kindergarten) River includes her friends when she plays with babies in oral language. She always makes sure everyone has a baby.
Sophie Guzman Torresi (kindergarten) Sophie was so kind to comfort her sister when she was upset and crying. She cares so much for her!
Devyn Bell (3rd grade) Devyn is a calm influence on those around her. She is a happy, patient person with those she sits by.

👻🏃BOO FUN RUN VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
A few spots left to help!! The Boo Fun Run is coming up on 10/17, and we need your help to make it a spook-tacular success! The PTA is looking for 20 parent volunteers to assist with the event. If you’re available to lend a hand, please sign up here. Thank you for supporting our school community!
