Halloween
We will be having our parade outside again this year. Bring your camp chair and line up on the playground. The parade path will be marked so you’ll know where to place your chairs. If you live within walking distance from the school, please consider walking as parking may be limited. We’ll start gathering all the students at 8:45 and begin outside at about 8:50. Send your student in his/her costume ready to go at the beginning of the day.
Families are invited to dress up as well! As always, we ask for no masks or pretend or real weapons as part of costumes here at school. Save those items for other celebrations.
Thanks to all our room parents who are preparing class parties for that day. Be sure you have done the background check on the district website so you will be able to volunteer in the classroom if you are helping with the class party. https://www.canyonsdistrict.org/depts/external-relations/volunteer/
Choose Kindness
We are on the lookout for any acts of kindness at Altara. Here are some examples of kindness happening at our school these past few weeks.
We have the best students!
Jack Wittwer (4th grade) Jack was kind because he got another student his math book.
Aaron Kim (4th grade) Aaron put away Chrome books that were left out – without being asked.
Catalina Guzman Torresi (kindergarten) Catalina is very kind to others! She is especially helpful to her sisters by speaking to them in Spanish to help Mrs. Platt understand their needs.
Brooklyn Prows (kindergarten) Brooklyn loves to help her teacher clean up at the end of the day. She is the best teacher helper!
Lydia Weiler (kindergarten) Lydia showed kindness to a friend who was sad by checking on her and comforting her.
Leland Garner (kindergarten) Leland shows kindness in so many ways! He is always eager to help others clean up even when he didn’t make the mess!
