Altara Elementary School Spanish Dual Language Immersion

Time is running out to apply for Canyons District’s Dual Language Immersion Programs for the 2026-2027 school year. Parents and guardians must apply online by 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, 2025 to place their child in one of CSD’s Spanish, French or Mandarin Chinese programs. Please note, students with siblings currently enrolled in a Dual-Language Immersion school must still submit applications by the Nov. 25 deadline. A lottery will be held to determine entrance into the programs if the number of applicants exceeds the seats available per entering class. Altara has openings for current kindergarten students entering 1st grade next school year. Apply ASAP as spots fill up quickly!

♥️ Choose Kindness

We have the KINDEST students!

We are on the lookout for extraordinary acts of kindness at Altara. We are so delighted to have this caliber of students at our school!  Here are some examples of kindness happening at our school these past few weeks:

Anthony Moreno Soares (kindergarten) Anthony is kind by smiling at others and being so positive every day. He helps others feel happy.

Ashlyn Castillo (2nd grade) Ashlyn is always smiling and willing to help others out.

Noah Briggs (3rd grade) Noah was so kind and helped another student who was struggling to write and finish his work.

Roman Allen (kindergarten) Roman stopped what he was doing to play with a friend who was lonely.

Jose Romero (kindergarten) Jose helped a friend clean up when she spilled craft supplies.

Ella Keza (kindergarten) Ella always chooses to play with kids who need friends. She never leaves people out! She will stop what she wants to do and play with others!

Piper Daniels (2nd grade) Piper is a good helper to the kids that sit at her table.

Elii Taft (kindergarten) Eli is an amazing friend to Landon. He always makes sure Landon is included and has a friend. Thanks for including others.
