🏆Congratulations Ruby Miller! 🏆        đŸŒŸSuperintendent’s Choice Award for Altara Elementary 2026 🌟

Ruby has dealt with challenges in an amazing way. She comes to school ready to learn, is so friendly with everyone, and has been doing great on all her work and expectations here at school. She has also been super helpful at home as well, helping to take care of her siblings. We think Ruby is the best!

🏆 Congratulations to our very own Mrs. Caldwell!  đŸ†

Mrs. Caldwell won the district Assistant Principal of the Year award this year, and we couldn’t be more proud.  This is her first year at Altara, and she loves the Kittyhawks!  Her contribution here is invaluable, and we are so happy to celebrate this well-deserved award with her.  Way to go, Mrs. Caldwell!

🎯RISE Testing Continues this week for students in grades 3rd , 4th, & 5th Grades 🎯

Help your student succeed on the RISE by keeping learning consistent and low-stress through daily reading and fun academic practice. Support healthy routines with good sleep, calm mornings, and nutritious meals—especially breakfast on test days. Encourage a positive mindset by reminding your child the test is simply a chance to show what they’ve learned, while praising effort and growth over scores. Confidence, consistency, and encouragement can make a big difference.

⚾No Hard Balls at School ⚾

In an effort to help keep everyone safe, please do not bring hard balls (baseballs, lacrosse balls, etc.) or any type of play equipment to school that could be considered unsafe. We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a safe environment for all students.

📚 Altara Elementary Year Books 📚

We have a few extra yearbooks to sell. They will need to bring $25.00 cash or check to the office. Yearbooks will be distributed the last week of school.

The celebration will begin at 9:00 AM, and we warmly invite all families of our 5th grade students to join us for this special moment. We look forward to honoring and celebrating our amazing students together!

🛑 Emergency Drills and Safety Information 🛑

As part of our commitment to student safety and in accordance with state requirements, Altara conducts monthly emergency drills to help students and staff prepare for a variety of scenarios. These drills are an important part of our safety procedures and help ensure that all students and staff know what to do in case of an emergency. We conducted our May drill, which  was a Hold where we followed the Hold Protocol.

Additionally, Canyons District has prepared a video explaining what happens during a school evacuation. You may preview the video below, and share it with your child(ren) if you believe it would be helpful.
