October 7, 2026: Parent Information Night: Enrolling in Dual-Language Immersion

Are you interested in possibly enrolling your child in one of Canyons Dual Language Immersion Programs for the 2027-2028 school year, but would like more information?

An informational meeting for parents will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 6:30-8 p.m. in the PEAKS room at the Canyons District Offices, 9361 S. 300 East, Sandy.

As a reminder, the window to apply for first-grade enrollment in Dual-Immersion Spanish, French or Mandarin Chinese is open now through Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2026. Some schools also have openings for current first- and second-grade students. A lottery will be held to determine entrance into the programs if the number of applicants exceeds the seats available per entering class.

Information about CSD’s immersion programs and the application process can be found at canyonsdistrict.org.

♥️ Choose Kindness ♥️

We have the KINDEST students!

We are always on the lookout for extraordinary acts of kindness at Altara.

Here are some examples of kindness happening at our school:

Josie Havell (kindergarten) – Josie is excellent at helping friends who are in need. She jumps right in and helps out.

Grace Gashler (kindergarten) – Grace is very kind to the friends at her table. She speaks in a kind and loving voice.

Leo Young (1st grade) – Leo is always the first one to help others with cleanup or when they are sad. Thanks for being so kind!

Kason Forsling (kindergarten) – Kason is kind to his teacher. He always says please and thank you. This makes his teacher feel loved.

Liam Jenson (4th grade) – Liam willingly helps other students with their tasks. He notices the needs and cheerfully helps out.

Laci Harford (kindergarten) – Laci does an excellent job helping to clean up the classroom after oral language.

Fundraiser Update

We have raised $4,482.27! Our next milestone is $5,500! Hooray! We are half way there! Thanks to everyone for all of your donations! All the little donations add up to this generous amount! We have earned 3 of our milestone prizes! We are confident that we will hit our next one really soon!
