Crosswalks & Crossing Guards
🚸
Let’s keep our students and staff safe! Please slow down and be patient at our crosswalks.
Our Kittyhawks and school community cross here! Slow down, pay attention to the crosswalks, crossing guards help keep everyone safe.
Halloween
We will be having our parade outside again this year. Bring your camp chair and line up on the playground. The parade path will be marked so you’ll know where to place your chairs. If you live within walking distance from the school, please consider walking as parking may be limited. We’ll gather all the students and begin outside at about 8:50. Send your student in his/her costume ready to go at the beginning of the day.
As always, we ask for no masks or pretend or real weapons as part of their costume here at school. Save those items for other celebrations. Thanks to all our room parents who are preparing class parties for that afternoon. Be sure you have done the background check on the district website so you will be able to volunteer in the classroom if you are helping with the class party. https://www.canyonsdistrict.org/depts/external-relations/volunteer/
Fundraiser Progress
Thank you to everyone who helped make our school fundraiser a huge success!
We’re so grateful for the time, effort, and enthusiasm from our teachers, families, and volunteers. Your support makes amazing opportunities possible for our students!
We surpassed our 10K goal and were able to raise $11,911.00 for field trips and special experiences for our Altara Kittyhawks!
We appreciate our school community’s generous support!
Choose Kindness
We are on the lookout for any acts of kindness at Altara. Here are some examples of kindness happening at our school these past few weeks.

Wade Morris (2nd grade) Wade is always kind, calm, and caring to every single student in our class.
Taika Metekingi (2nd grade) Taika did a good job cheering up a friend who felt sad.
Paizlee Jensen (2nd Grade) Paizlee is always quick to help out classmates, and she does it with a smile! 🙂
Hazel Maughan (2nd grade) Hazel is always willing to help clean up the classroom for her teachers.
Indiana Jones (kindergarten) Indy shows kindness everyday! He is always sharing his things & saying kind words! Way to go, Indy!
