DLI Parent Meeting TOMORROW, November 3, 2026 ~ 5:00-6:00 pm
This meeting is for all parents in the Altara community. District leadership will be attending to answer any questions about the future of dual immersion and plans/protocols that are needed because of overall declining enrollment across the district.

-First-Grade Enrollment for 2027-2028-
Apply for Altara’s Dual Language Immersion Programs for the 2027-2028 school year. Parents and guardians must apply online by Friday, Dec. 15, 2026 to place their child in our Spanish immersion program.

We have the KINDEST students!
We are always on the lookout for extraordinary acts of kindness at Altara! Here are some of the kindest students that are being acknowledged this week:
Louie Morris (kindergarten) Louie is such a kind friend. He says kind things to others and always makes great choices! Way to go, Louie!
Bridger Griffiths (first grade) Bridger offered to place classroom materials away while I was cleaning up desks.
Alma McCallson (kindergarten) Alma is such a kind friend. She helped another friend find the right page in their math book! Thanks for being so kind!
Ruby Nelson (2nd grade) Ruby helped a classmate who was struggling to find the correct page in her book 🙂
Noah Briggs (4th grade) Noah has been so kind and helpful to students who are working on their pumpkins.
Isaac Doty (2nd grade) Isaac pushed in all the chairs, without being asked, when his reading group finished. Thanks, Isaac!
Zach Sorenson (3rd grade) On multiple occasions, Zach has given up items, tools and even his place in line or in groups to share with others. He has a great heart, is a wonderful leader and a great example!!
Altara Career Day will be on Friday, November 20, 2026
TIME: Four 15-minute rotations from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

Hi, Altara families! 👋
We have another exciting month ahead at Altara Elementary! From reading challenges and skating to honoring our veterans, there are lots of fun activities and ways to get involved in the coming weeks
📚 READING MINUTES CONTEST — KEEP READING!
Our Reading Minutes Contest is still going strong! We hope everyone has been keeping track of their reading minutes over the past two weeks. Keep up the great work!
Students will continue tracking their reading at home throughout the four-week contest. Remember to have a parent sign the tracker at the end of each week. Completed trackers are due November 16!
Here’s how to earn prizes:
- 📖 Read 320 minutes over four weeks to earn a FREE book from the PTA!
- 🏆 Special prizes will be awarded to the top readers in each class, each grade, and the entire school!
Encourage your student to grab a favorite book and keep those pages turning. Every minute of reading outside of school counts!
📣 PTA MEETING — NOVEMBER 3
Join us Tuesday, November 3, at 10:00 AM for our next PTA meeting! We’ll be discussing and planning the activities and events to finish out 2026.
All parents are welcome! We’d love to see you there and hear your ideas!

Mark your calendars for a fun night of skating with Altara families!

Bring the family, lace up your skates, and enjoy a fun evening with our school community. We hope to see you there!
🇺🇸 VETERANS DAY CELEBRATION
Join us as we honor the brave men and women who have served our country at our annual Veterans Day Breakfast!
Students are encouraged to invite a veteran in their lives to join us for this special celebration. Please be sure to RSVP so we can plan accordingly!

Students have also brought home a special activity to complete about a veteran they know. Please help your student fill out the paper and include a picture of their veteran.
These special tributes will be displayed at school as we recognize and celebrate the veterans in our lives.
Please return completed activities by Friday, November 6.
