No Heelies

To help us Be Safe, Heelies are not allowed at school. Please make sure your student does not wear Heelies to school. Thank you for supporting a safe environment for all students!

Teacher Moves for School Year 2026-27

This year we have one teacher retiring:  Lorie Easter, 2nd grade DLI.  We truly appreciate  her service here at Altara and wish her the very best!

We are anticipating reducing our kindergarten classes from 4 classrooms to 3 classrooms.  We will be moving two teachers to different grade levels:

Mrs. Huot will move from 1st grade to the open 2nd grade DLI position.

Mrs. Young will move from kindergarten to 1st grade.

Teacher Appreciation Week

♥️We LOVE our Teachers! ♥️

Next week is Altara’s Teacher Appreciation Week! Thank you PTA for all your hard work and efforts making our teachers and staff feel loved and appreciated!

Attendance

Regular school attendance is very important for student learning and success. Each day of instruction builds on the previous one, so being present at school helps students stay on track academically and socially. Thank you for supporting your child by making school attendance a priority even at this time of year when school is slowly winding down.

Digital Citizenship

Image

Developing healthy habits goes beyond brushing teeth and eating vegetables. Our digital health matters too. Encourage your child to notice how technology affects their mind, body, and mood. Try asking: “How do you feel after being online—tired, happy, grumpy, anxious, inspired?”

Supportive conversations and positive role modeling help families:

 ✅Take tech breaks
✅Balance screen time with offline activities
 ✅Create device-free times and spaces

Create or revisit your Family Media Use Agreement to get started. https://cnyns.org/4axzCXyLinks to an external site. Let’s build a healthy digital culture—together.
