Monday Minute 5.27.25

Dear Families,

Last Thursday our students took a few minutes to go outside to cheer on the Alta High soccer team as they made their way to the stadium to participate in the state championship game.  The bus drove through our drop off/pick up lane while we clapped and cheered them on with posters and loud voices. It was a great opportunity to connect with our feeder school and support the athletes.  Today the team came to say thank you and brought pencils and pictures to give to our students.  Congrats to the Alta soccer team in winning the state championship game!

Clap-out for 5th graders

We will be celebrating our 5th graders as they leave Altara Elementary on May 30th, the last day of school.  We will do a clap-out at 10:10 that morning.  Parents are welcome to come and watch that if they want to.  It will be short—maybe 5ish minutes—so don’t feel obligated to attend.  The 5th graders will walk through the halls amidst the clapping and cheering from all the other students and teachers.  It will be one last chance to walk the halls of their elementary school.   Parents are welcome to line the halls in the front hallway for this short event.

  • Grades 1–5 Field Day: Friday, May 30
  • Kindergarten Field Day: Thursday, May 29 (Volunteers already arranged)

For grades 1–5, students will participate in either a morning or late morningsession (3rd grade will be split in half, DLI or English class):

  • Morning Session 8:35am-10:05am: 1st grade through 3rd grade DLI – limited water activities
  • 10:10am-10:20am:  INDOOR Clap Out for all 5th graders. Parents welcome. No volunteers needed during this time.
  • Late Morning Session: English 3rd grade through 5th grade – includes additional water stations

We need at least two volunteers per station. Support staff and teachers will be present to assist with behavior and station management.

As a fun bonus, Sandy City Fire Department will be stopping by at 11:45 AMto cool the kids off with a water spray!

You’re welcome to volunteer for the entire morning or just during your child’s session. We hope you can join us for this fun-filled day!
