From the PTA:

Hi, parents! 👋

September is off to a great start, and we have lots happening at Altara Elementary! This month, we’re kicking off TEAM BRAVO, welcoming families to our Watch D.O.G.S. program, opening Reflections, preparing for Parent-Teacher Conferences, and more. Here are some important updates and ways you can get involved!

🍿 TEAM BRAVO: Let’s Pop By With Some Appreciation!

This month we are starting our TEAM BRAVO!

What is TEAM BRAVO?

TEAM BRAVO is our parent-powered way of showing our amazing teachers and staff a little extra appreciation throughout the school year!

Several times throughout the year, we’ll put together simple treats and surprises—things like popcorn, cookies, nachos, drinks, and other small pick-me-ups. Unlike our larger Teacher Appreciation events, TEAM BRAVO is completely supported by parent donations and volunteers.

That’s where you come in! We’ll send out simple signups asking families to contribute an item or two. There is never an expectation to participate every time. Join us when you can, skip it when you can’t. When lots of families each do something small, we’re able to create something really fun for our teachers and staff.

It’s an easy way to say: We see you. We appreciate you. We’re cheering you on!

🍿 Our First TEAM BRAVO Event

We’re kicking off TEAM BRAVO with a popcorn treat bar for our wonderful teachers and staff!

TEAM BRAVO is powered entirely by our school families, with each of us contributing a little to create something special. We’ve divided everything we need into simple signup items.

Sign up for anything you’d like to contribute, and we’ll take care of putting it all together!

📅 Donation Drop-Off: Thursday, September 17
⏰ Time: Noon–1:00 PM

Thank you for helping us remind our teachers and staff how much our school community appreciates them! 💛

🐶 WATCH D.O.G.S. KICK-OFF PIZZA PARTY

Tuesday, September 15 at 6:00 PM

Calling all dads, grandpas, uncles, and friends! Join us for our Watch D.O.G.S. Kick-Off Pizza Party on Tuesday, September 15 at 6:00 PM.

Students and their special guests can learn more about our Watch D.O.G.S. program and sign up to volunteer as a Watch D.O.G. throughout the school year. 🍕💙

We hope to see you there!

🎨 REFLECTIONS

Reflections entries are now open for all interested students!

This year’s theme is “What My Culture Means to Me.” This is a wonderful opportunity for students to share their creativity and express themselves through the arts.

📚 PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES

Parent-teacher conferences are coming up! With those long conference nights comes an opportunity for our PTA and parents to show our amazing teachers and staff some extra appreciation.

We are looking for volunteers to help with the Book Fair and to provide dinners for our teachers during conferences.
