  1. Review Data/Goal From Spring
  • TSSP Goal: 88% of students in Kindergarten will be on benchmark at the end of the year in Correct Letter Sounds (CLS). Kindergarten scored 83%.
  • By the spring of 2023, 70% of students grade 1-3 will meet typical or above typical growth. 72% students showed typical or above typical growth.
  • 15% more students in 4-5 will score on the advanced or proficient level on RI.
  • 80% of K students will be on benchmark in math. Hit it with 90%
  • By the spring of 2023, 80% of 1-5 will be on benchmark as demonstrated with the MCOMP.
  • 75% of students (k-5) will be in the low risk range of externalizing behaviors by spring of 2023 as measured by the SRSS-IE. Scored 77%

 

  • Kristen Romero suggested Upstart Kindergarten. Have to commit to a certain amount of days, with make-up days on the weekend.

 

  • Kristen Romero expressed concerns with our reading program, Amira. Kathryn Weber shared that with the trouble shooting, it has been working much better. Suggested to share the trouble shooting with the staff, so there are less issues than there were last year.

 

  1. Goals for this year
  • By the spring 2024, 88% students in K will be on benchmark in NWF-CLA. 70% in 1-3 will meet typical or above typical growth. 20% in 4-5 will score on the advanced or proficient level on RI.
  • By the spring of 2024, 80% of our students will score at or above benchmark on the acadience COMPOSITE measure.
  • 80% of students k-5 will be in the low risk range of externalizing behaviors by the spring of 2024 as measured by the SRSS-IE.

 

  • Funding is almost all going towards aid support, literacy aids, behavior supports, social work, a little for substitutes for planning and PD, a little for school supplies.

  • Emergency Drills:
    • Fire Drill in August

  • Kindness Theme: teachers or other adults in the building can nominate a student who is caught being kind, Julie will stop by their classrooms and congratulate them in front of their peers. They will get a picture with the principal that will be sent home as well as posted on the bulletin board.
  • Facility Issues: Flood damage was repaired over the summer

 

  • Staffing: New custodian – Liam Smith, new 3rd grade DLI teacher, Solange Rivas

 

 

Reminder: SCC personnel are to attend an annual Training: September 27, 2023 either at 10-11:30 or 6-7:30 at Canyons District Office.

 

  1. Next meeting: Discuss possible safety concerns and create a plan to focus on our biggest concern. We will also need to look at our Safe Walking Routes and determined if there is any need for more supports from the city.

 

*School safety plans, safe walking route plans and digital citizenship plans will all be due November 1, 2023.
