KEEP Testing
Our end-of-year testing for kindergarten students will be individual appointments on May 24th, 28th, and 29th. Parents can sign up for an appointment starting May 1st—17th. Instructions on how to sign up will be sent home with kindergarten students. Our kindergarten students are Rockstars!
RISE Testing
I jumped ahead last week, but our testing window will start next Monday for grades 3rd-5th to show what they have learned this year. This state testing is done on chromebooks. Students in 3rd grade take a reading and math test. In 4th and 5th grade, they take an additional test in science, and in 5th grade they also add a writing test. Please help your student feel calm and capable as they show their learning on these tests. Make sure they have a good night’s sleep and eat a good breakfast to fuel their brains. Also, please make sure they are on time to school so they can begin the test with their peers. If your child has a scheduled absent during those two weeks, let the teacher know as soon as possible so they can arrange a make-up time. Go Kittyhawks!
Field Trips
We have several field trips coming up next month in many of the grades. Be sure the permission slips have been returned and you have chosen a school lunch or home lunch. Also, please be on time so students don’t miss the bus. We don’t want students missing out!

May 23rd—4th Grade Field Trip to the Utah State Capitol Buildings
May 24th, 28th, & 29th—KEEP testing appointments for kindergarten students
May 27th—Memorial Day; no school
May 29th—Dance Festival for grades 1st-5th; 9:00—9:30 outside on the blacktop; bring a camp chair to sit on and enjoy dances from all the grades.
May 30th—Last day of school for 1st-5th grades. School will dismiss at 12:25 and no meals will be served that day. Students will participate in Field Day that day. Contact the PTA if you can help volunteer!
