Spanish Dual Language Immersion School

Monday Minute 4.28.25

Dear Parents,

On rare occasions there may be a need to request a specific learning environment for your child.  Attached is a form you can use to make this request.  All requests must be completed by May 5th so we can begin creating classes for the next school year.  Please understand that requests after this date are very difficult to process. A lot of thought and care go into our class lists, as we try to meet the needs of all students as well as balance the numbers.   Thanks for understanding. We also have these available in the office.

Staffing for next year

We will welcome three new teachers to Altara next year.  Two teachers will come to us from Spain.  Julene Boury Mendinueta will teach in 4th grade, and Andoni Susperregi Iragorri will be our 5th grade Spanish teacher.  Heather Rasmussen will be our Resource teacher.   She comes to us from Granite Elementary.   A huge thank you to our teachers who are leaving, Senora Lascorz, Senora Timmreck, and Mrs. Clark.  We appreciate you!!

Choose Kindness

We are on the lookout for any acts of kindness at Altara.

Avery Watson (2nd grade) Avery made cards and bracelets for everyone in our class.

Peter Smoot (1st grade) Peter was headed toward one partner, but when someone else asked him to be partners, he said. “Sure!” and patted the new friend’s arm in a friendly way.

Emran Ahadi (1st grade) Emran shared his swing with another student who was waiting.
