  1. PTA News

Earth Week April 10-14 – Each day will cover a different subject on how to care for the Earth.

  1. Principal News

FTE (Full Time Employee) Funds are becoming tighter due to no more cushion from COVID funds.  This affects 5th grade DLI, who will be short one FTE (one full-time employee).  Parents that are concerned can voice those concerns to the school district.

All CSD kindergarten classes will be full-day, starting next school year, with half day options for both morning and afternoon, though curriculum will be missed.  Altara will have 4 Kindergarten teachers.

  1. Budget Review

School budget on track.

Land Trust on track.

TSSA – no more furloughs as now it’s looking like we may have a budget surplus.  Principal Magann is taking steps to get to under 10% of the TSSA budget in order to not risk losing the difference.

  1. Land Trust Plan

Altara students’ growth this year is looking even better than last year, so we are increasing our goal percentages, while keeping the same basic goals and strategies as last year since they were so successful.

  1. TSSA Plan

Our council recognizes Altara’s SEL team as being tremendously strong and worthwhile for our students’ continued success.  Because of this, we will again fund a full-time social worker and two MTSS aides.
