Miss Fielding Monday Minute – April 22, 2024

Dear Families,
Congratulations to our school choir who gave a wonderful performance last week!  Shout out to Lisa Pixton and Kirbie Dennison for all their support and directing of the choir.  Look for an article about the performance in the Sandy City Journal.

RISE Testing

Next week begins our two-week testing window for our students in grades 3rd-5th to show what they have learned this year.  This state testing is done on chromebooks.  Students in 3rd grade take a reading and math test.  In 4th and 5th grade, they take an additional test in science, and in 5th grade they also add a writing test.   Please help your student feel calm and capable as they show their learning on these tests.  Make sure they have a good night’s sleep and eat a good breakfast to fuel their brains.  Also, please make sure they are on time to school so they can begin the test with their peers.  If your child has a scheduled absent during those two weeks, let the teacher know as soon as possible so they can arrange a make-up time.  Go Kittyhawks!

Earth Week

Thanks Mr. Eric, our dance teacher, for organizing Earth week last week.  Every student was able to plant some Utah wildflower seeds on Friday.  Hopefully we’ll see lots of fun flowers in our neighborhood in the coming weeks!
