- STEAM CLASSES
- Kristen Romero wondered if we can add more STEAM SQUAD to the before school activities
- There were over 100 applications in K-2 just the first day and only 25 spots available.
- Kathryn Weber and Julie Fielding reached out to the person in charge and haven’t heard back
- Michelle Erb will be meeting the person in charge to ask about STEAM SQUAD
- There is a lot of work required with the STEAM SQUAD
- There are a few issues with adding more classes
- Will the district approve more opportunities for opening more classes?
- Will there be teachers who are willing to lead this class?
- Spacing can be an issue with what
- TSSA Plan
- Julie will be meeting with BLT Monday
- She is looking at making the reading goal is at 80% showing proficiency or above proficiency OR 80% of students showing typical or above typical growth.
- Last May we showed 77% growth.
- There will be no Reading Inventory test anymore.
- We are using the Acadience Benchmark testing.
- Kindergarten – correct letter sounds in nonsense words
- 1st grade – whole word read in nonsense words
- 2nd-5th – oral fluency reading
- She is looking at making the reading goal is at 80% showing proficiency or above proficiency OR 80% of students showing typical or above typical growth.
- Climate goal – 100% of our teachers implementing morning meeting, using Thrive Time curriculum, and building relationships.
- School goal – reading foundational skills, prioritizing scheduling to aid tier 2 and tier 2 supports. Everyone gets tier 1 supports, but we want to prioritize those students who are needing additional supports.
- School goal – focusing on structured classroom discussions as a whole school.
- Julie would like the LAND TRUST funds ($28,000) to go all towards for assistants
- She would like all of the TSSA funds ($110,721.78- last year) to go towards:
- $2000 BLT, meet before contract time to review school planning and goal reaching or sub day to meet during school hours
- $3000 professional development and planning – giving teachers time to plan with their teams, dig into the data, and provide time with a substitute in the classroom
- $1500 supplies for professional development – can be treats, supplies, or tools
- $1800 two MTSS assistants
- $6500 block for math software technology support
- $30000 social worker
- $1500 behavior assistant (the district provides one, but using TSSA to pay for the other one)
- $4000 PBIS awards for students and teachers – instead of a school store, put it in the teacher stores
- Additional funding – increase in the amounts in any of the areas already identified, FTE in supporting lower class sizes, behavior/support aids, substitutes, supplies for PD or academic subjects…

- School Happenings
- Safety concerns update. The district meets with the city and comes back with the principal to share what feedback they have shared
- The park strip is the home owners – there is contact info present for when this has not been completed, Julie will share with SCC
- Crossing guards not being there before school – they are not provided for extracurricular activities. This is a stop controlled intersection, pick up and drop off should be on school grounds only
- District proposal for elementary teacher planning time
- Our elementary teachers are not receiving the same planning time as the secondary teachers.
- Elementary teachers have asked for more planning time
- The Elementary Task Force was created

- Assistant principal/admin interns
- IEP Block Scheduling
- Board supports 45-60 planning times, but concern about shorten Fridays and virtual Fridays. That was taken out of the proposal. They also asked to look at assistant principals/admins interns in separate. They are supporting the IEP scheduling.
- What does this mean for students? It will increase the students M-TH school day by 10 minutes. They will get some form of arts Monday-Thursday. Teachers’ work day will not be extended.
- What does this mean for teachers? Teachers will have daily, uninterrupted planning time so that they can deliver high quality instruction. PLC (professional learning communities – teacher teams meeting to discuss student data and supports) will be held during a 60 minute block or on Friday.
- Altara Brain booster teachers are on board, however this is not the same across the district.
