- Cell tower funds—Teacher appreciation as we approved last meeting
- Attendance plan—Turned into Julie Fielding
- Worried about taking away academic time.
- PBIS point for random days or random on time people.
- Sometimes for tardiness and sometimes for being here.
- Tie it into the system we currently have.
- Review year-to-date budget and submit a Plan Amendment for approval, as needed.
- So far, we look as though we will get to our 10% and we will continue to watch it each month.
- No amendments so far and we are not anticipating that we will need to.
- Participate in an academic data discussion in relation to the current School LAND Trust Plan implementation and decide the academic needs to be addressed in the upcoming school year
- MLL—learning English (Lexile program and newcomer program)
- Progress monitoring—State mandated
- LA Rise/Sage 3-5 (EOY 2022-2023) is at 62% proficiency
- Math Rise/Sage 3-5 (EOY 2022-2023) is at 63% proficiency
- Science Rise/Sage 4-5 (EOY 2022-2023) is at 62% proficiency
- Data shows that having aides is working.
- Move towards keeping funds for aides and MLL/progress monitoring programs. Next meeting will have more specifics and budget items, etc.
- Make recommendations to the principal about the Teacher and Student Success Act Plan (TSSA).
- Data from agenda item 4 shows that we want to keep the same math goal and keep aides as they are helping our score.
- Reading goals are grade specific. Do we want to have a broader school wide goal? Set goal to continue to have aides.
- School Happenings
- STEM teacher is resigning at end of this month (part time brain booster) replace with art. BLT wants visual arts (part time) every other week for 20 hours a week. Time spent in STEM is a discussion item at the next Canyons meeting (this Tuesday).
- PD-Structured classroom discussions (talking and using academic talk)
- Fire Drill—done in 4 minutes
- Reminder–Teacher of the year nominations due soon
- Governor Cox Cell Phone Letter
- District has said they are not making a district decision; it needs to be a local decision.
- Are we seeing this as a problem at our school? A slight distraction…not a huge problem so far. Digital citizenship reminders can help. Kids have seemed to be respectful when asked to put away.
- We do not think we need to make a fuss because it is not much of an issue here.
- We do not have a school policy for infractions.
- Next meeting February 9th at 2pm.
